The commercial aviation problem
There are currently over 25,000 commercial aircraft in operation, contributing to 2.3% of global emissions. By 2040, the total aircraft in operation is projected to rise to 41,000!
The aviation industry, often criticized for its environmental impact, is no longer see's 'offsetting' as a solution. However, it has pledged, alongside governments, to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.
While batteries and hydrogen technologies are not yet ready for large-scale commercial use in regional air transport, the initial step towards sustainable aviation will involve smaller regional aircraft utilizing ‘hybrid-electric’ propulsion.
UBS predicts that the market for hybrid-electric aircraft will exceed $178 billion by 2040.

Faradair burst onto the scene in 2014 as an exciting, next generation 'duel-tech' airplane manufacturer, creating both manned and unmanned air assets!
With decades of commercial and military aviation expertise, our core team is equipped with the market knowledge to revolutionize regional flight for cargo and passengers alike.
Included within that, is past experience evolving pioneering Unmanned Air Vehicle (UAV) assets, where many of today's commonly seen aircraft, follow designs developed 35 years ago by Faradair team members.
Over the past 10 years, our ground-breaking vision for hybrid-electric regional flight has gained widespread recognition as the most promising near-term opportunity for sustainable aviation.
We're thrilled to be finalizing our aircraft design for both manned and unmanned missions, with plans to kick off proof of concept flights in just a couple of years!
We are excited to bring you glimpse of the layout and core propulsion methodology for our aircraft here, but the full and final design has yet to be revealed, but we hope to do so in the coming months with investment support.
Our roadmap intends to scale up our air assets from unmanned to full Part23 passenger/cargo carrying aircraft. As part of that journey, we are actively working on Governmental requirements for innovative air assets in the ever changing geopolitical landscape.
Our commitment to hybrid-electric flight is celebrated as a vital step toward sustainable aviation, and PwC named Faradair 'one to watch' in its NetZero Future Fifty report, thanks to the vision and experience of our founding team.
